Elektronmusikstudion EMS Stockholm is an institution dedicated to the production and dissemination of new music, and innovation within the artistic technological world. At its headquarters in Stockholm, it has top-level equipment and studies that allow it to organize a residency program that is a unique opportunity to generate new work in an appropriate sound environment.
AC/E supports the residence for musical composition of the Argentine musician resident in Spain Nicolás Melmann during a whole month so that he can develop a process of composition and recording in Elektronmusikstudion studios around aesthetics of contemporary and electroacoustic music. In his project he is integrating different instruments (harp, lyre, hang drum, flute, tonal percussion etc) with electronics.
Nicolás Melmann (Arg - Barcelona based) composer and sound artist uses sound as the raw material for his compositions exploring social and poetic aspects of sound. Influenced by radioplay and cinema, artist like Derek Jarman, Sergei Parajanov, Peter Greenaway his art goes between museums institutions and music circuits.
