The XXI FESTIVAL OF RENAISSANCE AND BAROQUE MUSIC OF VÉLEZ BLANCO (FESTIMUVB 2022) is dedicated this year to the musical, cultural and political convergences between Italy and Spain between the 16th and 18th centuries. The relationship between Spain and Italy and the presence and influence of Italian musicians in Spain created a network through which ideas, music and people circulated that had an influence beyond the territory of both peninsulas. With the music of Monteverdi, Francesca Cacini, Francesco Mancini, Barbara Strozzi, José de Nebra, Antonio Literes or Sebastián Duron, among others, a journey through the musical encounters between Italy and Spain is made. This Mediterranean sound space is historically contextualized with the presence of prestigious historians and musicologists from Spain, France and Italy.
AC/E collaborates in the organization of the commemorative concert of the III Centenary of the Birth of Antonio Rodríguez de Hita, on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 9:00 p.m., in La Real Cámara (Patio de Honor del Castillo de Vélez Blanco) with Aurora Peña (soprano), Francisco Fernández-Rueda (tenor) and Emilio Moreno (violin and direction).
