The Internationaal Poppen- en figurentheaterfestival Meppel is the only international puppet festival held in the Netherlands. It is an ideal springboard for national and international puppet artists whose performances are aimed at both child and adult audiences.
AC/E is collaborating through the PICE mobility grants by supporting the participation of Spanish artists Pep Bou with his show Clinc!, Jordi Betrán Company with El trampoplinista and Zero en conducta with Nymio yAllegro ma non troppo.
The organisers’ aim is to deepen and enlarge the festival year by year, on the one hand by attracting more quality performances to Meppel, and on the other by seeking out shows that merge with other arts, so that the programme offers greater variety.
This year’s programme also features many activities such as artistic performances, routes, presentations, exhibitions, workshops and screenings.
