The Public sector of Art Basel, curated by Nicholas Baume, is an outdoor public art exhibition in Collins Park, Miami Beach, held in connection with Art Basel Miami fair. It features 26 large-scale and site-specific installations by emerging artists from 13 countries that are produced in conjunction with the Bass Museum of Art.
One of the guest artists is Nuria Fuster from Spain, who is presenting her work Pump Iron with the support of a mobility grant awarded under the PICE. In it she explores invisible forces such as gravity, heat, air and resistance – agents that are directly involved in the creation of artworks. She links their use to the origin of humans and their existence, thus infusing the work with an ancestral physical organic structure.
