Programme of Residencies AC/E and FLORA ars+natura 2017

From February 6 takes place the second edition of Escuela Flora, Residency Program co-organized by AC / E in its call for Spanish artists begins. In this edition, the selected Spanish artist Mauro Vallejo shares eleven months of training and practice with 25 other artists from 13 countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Spain, Great Britain, Holland, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and Switzerland, as well as several regions of Colombia.

The program includes seminars with local artists and curators like Cuauhtémoc Medina, Marjetica Potrc, Jennie Hirsh, Antoni Muntadas, Mauricio Nieto, Osvaldo Sánchez, Lupe Álvarez, Clemencia Echeverri, María José Arjona, Eugenio Valdés Figueroa, Humberto Junca, Rosario López, Bernardo Ortiz, Lucas Ospina and Tania Candiani, among others, as well as "Wise" indigenous from different communities.

This AC/E residence program enables a Spanish artist up to 40 years old to participate in the FLORA School. The call was open between November 30 and December 10, 2016. Applications were received from 30 candidates. Pamuel Desjardins (curator at FLORA) and José Roca (FLORA artistic director), Iñaki Chávarri (artist), Claudia Segura Campins (curator), evaluated the proposals and selected four finalists: Mauro Vallejo, María Clara Sánchez Sala, Julia Varela and Rubén Riera. After interviews with the finalists, the jury chose as winner the artist Mauro Vallejo, who will perform a 10-month residency at FLORA ars + natura in Bogotá.
