The Swallow
After its successful World Premiere at the Cervantes Theatre last year, The Swallow returns for a second run. Written by the renowned Spanish playwright Guillem Clua, the play is a heart-breaking story inspired by the 2016 Orlando terrorist attack. The Swallow reflects on identity, loss, family and love.

New Spanish Playwriting Season II
With the aim to showcase the newest and most successful Spanish writers, the Cervantes Theatre presents the second New Spanish Playwriting Season, which features a full production and a series of dramatised readings.

The Little Pony by Paco Bezerra
Luismi, is being bullied at school because of his favourite backpack, a bright pink backpack full of little ponies from his much-loved TV series.
A couple that tries to do the best for their child and a school that protects its bullies, will witness how Luismi escapes to an imaginary universe to keep himself safe from the insufferable reality. The play touches on Bullying, identity, sexual orientation and education.

Contemporary Spanish Playwriting Season I
The Cervantes Theatre opens its doors to some of the most established and recognised Spanish writers. The plays presented have become contemporary classics projecting the importance of their literal portrayal during Spain's history. Spanning social themes such as the Spanish Civil War and the Spanish Transition to a modern society that has witnessed the Women’s Liberation; this Season offers some of the best contemporary plays to London.

Ay, Carmela! by José Sanchís Sinisterra
Carmela and Paulino, a couple of travelling entertainers, mistakenly cross the border that separates the two opposing sides of the Spanish Civil War. Unexpectedly, they end up in "Belchite" – a square that the National Army has recently liberated. Both actors will be forced to improvise a theatrical evening to celebrate the defeat of the enemy. What begins as an entertaining tribute to the victors ends as a tragic comedy.

Yerma by Federico García Lorca
The presentation of Lorca’s magnificent Rural Trilogy at the Cervantes Theatre ends with Yerma, "a tragic poem" of a woman with a desperate desire for motherhood, who under the pressures of social convention, is driven to commit a horrific crime.
