Acción Cultural Española presents in this edition of Arco, on Friday, February 25 in the Forum Room (9B35), at 7:00 p.m. the short film directed by Cristina Hortigüela about the work “Dinamo” created for the Spanish Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020 by Daniel Canogar.
Participants: Daniel Canogar (visual artist), José Andrés Torres Mora (president of AC/E) and Isabel Izquierdo Peraile (director of Programming of AC/E).
The work Dinamo, by the artist Daniel Canogar, located in the atrium of the Spanish Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020, is surrounded by the descending ramps that the public uses to access the theatre and exhibition area. Accompanied by music composed for the occasion by Francisco López, the helical shape of the installation dialogues architecturally with those ramps that define the space. The public waits on them before entering the theatre. The luminous and chromatic oscillations of Canogar's work bathe the space and the public that occupies it with light. The work proposes a reflection on technology and art. Sensors located on the railing of the ramp detect the hands of each of the visitors present at that moment. With this information, the algorithm of the work produces on each occasion a unique and unrepeatable audiovisual pattern.
