Porto/Post/Doc is a festival in Porto that takes place from November 24 to December 2, 2018. As a meeting point for creators, audience and industry professionals, Porto/Post/Doc aims to foster film culture, screening new forms of contemporary cinema.
Porto/Post/Doc includes, every year, the Cinefiesta, a programme devoted to recent Spanish documentaries. In 2018, the festival has partnerships with Spanish festivals in order to screen the most recent films. These participants, with the support of AC/E' mobility grants, are representants of Zinebi, FICX – Gijon, Punto de Vista, L’Alternativa Barcelona and Festival de Cine Europeo de Sevilla. These guests also participate in industry events to promote Spanish films and directors for Portuguese and international partners to foster synergies with other international agents, and specially promoting the contact between Portuguese and Spanish guests.
For this edition, Porto/Post/Doc is preparing a special programme entitled Fictions of the Real, which includes the Forum of the Real and a retrospective on the Portuguese filmmakers António Reis and Margarida Cordeiro. The festival will present two director’s focus – Chris Petit and Matias Piñeiro – and side programmes: documentaries on music in Transmission; films about Fashion & Style in Doc is the New Black; and recent Spanish and Portuguese-spoken films in Cinefiesta and Cinema Falado.
