Pianodrom is the first International Piano Festival to be held in Tirana and is part of the activities staged by the Albanese association Aelfior since 2000. Pianists of different nationalities take part in this festival, some of whom have given concerts at the most important musical events and concert halls in the world, such as the Berliner Philarmonie, the Proms Festival in London and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, among others.
The Aelfior association is a team of musicians, designers and producers who organise concerts, festivals, exhibitions, publications and other research-based artistic productions, chiefly in Albania and Eastern Europe.
The embassies of the countries of the pianists taking part in the festival are also collaborating with Pianodrom: Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Russia, the US, Switzerland, the Netherlands, China, Turkey, Japan and Bulgaria.
Acción Cultural Española is collaborating with Pianodrom by supporting the participation of the Canary-Islands pianist Guillermo González – a specialist in Spanish music, winner of the 1991 national music prize and of the 2009 Albéniz Medal – who is performing the opening concert at the festival.
