Música Antigua, directed by Eduardo Paniagua, is a group of researchers of Spanish medieval music in which singers and instrumentalists from all countries work on music projects and bring out albums on the musical culture of the Spain of the Three Cultures: Jewish, Muslim and Christian. Their work on Spanish-Muslim and Spanish-Jewish music has had excellent reviews for its contribution to recovering Spain’s medieval musical heritage. These musical projects require the use of instruments that are copies of those of the period.
Música Antigua is currently recording the Cantigas de Santa Maria for PNEUMA. Some of these works will be heard for the first time at the concert scheduled by Oslo International Church Festival, with which AC/E is collaborating through the mobility awards of the PICE.
