Olomouc Flamenco Colours Festival 2014

Olomouc Flamenco Colours Festival 2014

During the four days it runs, Olomouc Flamenco Colours Festival has programmed several activities based chiefly on flamenco, ranging from a concert featuring Spanish guest artists, a guitar duo and a mezzosoprano with a Czech-Spanish repertoire, two nights of flamenco and flamenco-jazz performances at a club in the city with Spanish artists based in the Czech Republic and local artists, to a flamenco celebration for the general public at the open air venue in the main square. Last year’s festival was honoured with the presence of the maestro Paco de Lucía as the star of the gala concert on 26 July 2013, which drew 1,800 people.

For the sixth festival, with the support of AC/E’s PICE programme, Iván Vargas, Karime Amaya and Alba Heredia, three promising young flamenco dancers, are presenting their show which plays tribute to their renowned predecessors, especially Carmen Amaya owing to the recent celebration of the centenary of her birth.
