Nuevas conversaciones de cine español. Salamanca 2016

Nuevas conversaciones de cine español. Salamanca 2016

These sessions, entitled Nuevas Conversaciones de Cine Español (New conversations on Spanish cinema), bring together Spanish filmmakers and other sector professionals for three days in Salamanca to reflect on a number of matters of paramount importance to the development of the motion picture industry in Spain. The funding of films, relations between cinema and society, the unity and internationalisation of the sector, the dissemination of audiovisual and the aesthetic direction in which the Spanish cinema is heading are some of the issues that will be discussed at these meetings.

Nuevas Conversaciones dates back to the conference held in Salamanca in May 1955 that brought together a large number of prominent filmmakers and intellectuals. Carlos Saura, Ricardo Muñoz Suay, Basilio Martín Patino, José Luis Sáenz de Heredia, José María García Escudero, Fernando Fernán Gómez, Fernando Lázaro Carreter, Antonio del Amo, Luis García Berlanga, and Juan Antonio Bardem took part in the first Conversaciones on Spanish cinema, also known as the Salamanca Conversaciones, where they discussed the functioning and structure of Spanish cinema.

The deadline for signing up to take part in Nuevas Conversaciones de cine español is Tuesday 1 March. Anyone interested can send an email to the following address: formacion@fundacionsgae.org
