Nights in the gardens of Spain

Nights in the gardens of Spain

This concert in London will be presented by Covent Garden Chamber Orchestra and it will feature two young Spanish musicians – the conductor, Asier Puga and pianist, Juan Carlos Fernandez-Nieto –, who will be the soloist in Manuel de Falla's evocative piece, "Nights in the Gardens of Spain". Asier Puga will also be conducting two Suites by Igor Stravinsky and the Ninth Symphony by Dmitri Shostakovich. AC/E supports this programme through the grants for Mobility of the PICE Programme.

The concert will take place in the newly-restored Victorian church of St. Peter's in Notting Hill, a church in a residential part of west London which is supported by its thriving community. Covent Garden Chamber Orchestra is one of London's best non-professional orchestras and has been in existence for over thirty years. It has been putting on concerts at the church for the last eight years and has a loyal audience of local residents and friends of the Orchestra.
