Through the programme for the internationalisation of Spanish culture, AC/E is collaborating with The Early Music Guild by supporting the Musica Ficta group, whose programme entitled Travelling Music- Three Cultures explores the music of the Christians, Jews and Muslims who coexisted on the Iberian Peninsula before 1492.
With Traveling Music – Three Cultures, Música Ficta celebrates the cultural richness of the Iberian Peninsula through the music of the Sephardic Jews, Alfonso X the Wise’s Cantigas de Santa María, Diego Pisador’s carols and improvisations rooted in Ottoman music.
Directed by Raúl Mallavibarrena, Musica Ficta masterfully performs early Spanish vocal and instrumental music in this magnificent programme that pays tribute to the country’s rich cultural heritage.
