Musica 2016, festival international des musiques d'aujourd'hui

Since 1983, the festival’s aim is to present the most significant works of a 20th century rich in musical creations with its references, legacies, masterpieces and, of course, its new generations of artists, composers and performers who skilfully revive the writings, now at the beginning of the 21st century, offering us, through creation, the unexpected and the unheard of.

Musica’s aims are topreserve a space of free artistic expression for composers and performers; to support contemporary creation; to participate to young artist’s social integration; to democratize access to musical creation and to inform students about musical writing technique through concerts and meetings with composers at the University of Strasbourg.

For its 34th edition, Musica dedicates 9 events to Spanish composer Alberto Posadas: Five concerts; The composition tutor’s of the new composition academy (September 19th – October 1st); to masterclasses in collaboration with the University of Strasbourg and Strasbourg’s Conservatory and a public meeting in collaboration with the University national library of Strasbourg.
