This concert falls into the music programming portion of De Vieze Gasten cultural activities for the Fall and Winter season 2016/2017. In their cultural program they present artists who uniquely show their ethnical background in their work.
De Vieze Gasten is much more than a cultural center: it provides with a wide range of artistic expressions and services all in favor or serving the community around us. These services include theater, music and dance performances, a school for special arts programs, and our very own publication Our mission statement aims to promote ethnic diversity by programing performers from all over the world and local performers with a global artistic vision.
De Vieze Gasten presents the work of Rebeca Vallejo, with the support of AC/E, a unique vocalist and composer from Spain who seemly weaves the sounds of jazz, flamenco and Brazilian music. Rebeca Vallejo accompanies herself by pianist George Dulin (Kenny Werner, Chris Potter, John Scofield)
and Percussionist David Silliman (Cassandra Wilson, Edmar Castañeda, Al DiMeola). This concert showcases the musical collaboration between Rebeca Vallejo Trio and Gents' saxophonist extraordinaire John Snauwaert, one of the most iconic jazz musicians Belgium has to offer.
