Mudanzas is a meeting point for training and reflection around the dance that is part of the National Contemporary Dance Festival at the Teatro Popular Melico Salazar. It aims to promote the professionalization of dance. This tenth edition focuses on generating growth tools for the sector, and seek for ways to strengthen cultural management tools.
The 10th edition of Mudanzas is held within the framework of the 16th Festival of Contemporary Dance to maximize resources in an event that integrates shows, conversations, workshops and master classes.
AC/E supports the presentation of La Macana Dance Company which will present its show "Wires" at the opening ceremony of the Festival on August 3rd. In addition to this, they will hold a workshop of contemporary dance for Costa Rican dancers, on August 5, 6 and 7 in Mudanzas 10.
La Macana is a dance company based in Galicia in 2009 by the creators and performers Caterina Varela and Alexis Fernández.
They have collaborated with other artists and have a strong international projection. With their first work, "Ven", awarded on different occasions and presented in more than twenty countries, they managed to open a gap in the international scene that helped them maintain collaborations with other artists and foreign institutions over the last few years. They combine their creative work with the pedagogical, being also invited teachers in different international centers.
