The festival of ‘films made with the heart’ will be held in Fortaleza, Brazil, as a tribute to Eddie Saeta, the Spanish independent film production company which has produced more than 30 films over 25 years with risk as the main premise. During the event the organisers will screen ten of the company’s most significant films offering new ways of interpreting reality. They are prominent films by acclaimed Spanish directors such as Isabel Coixet, Albert Serra, Sergio Caballero, José María Orbe, José Luis Guerín and Javier Rebollo, as well as major international co-productions that have earned the company prestigious prizes such as the Golden Palm at Cannes.
Thanks to the support of AC/E, through its Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture (PICE), the festival will be attended by Luis Miñarro, Eddie Saeta’s creator, producer and director, as honorary guest. He will present each of the films and will take part in the debates held after each screening. The films will be analysed and commented on by the city’s leading intellectuals, thinkers and artists.
