The Mostra is a travelling show held in the cities of Porto Alegre and Sao Paulo (Brazil) with the aim of promoting and making known Spanish culture by disseminating new filmmakers and fostering exchange through the many forms of contemporary film creation. It provides an opportunity for the new generation of Spanish filmmakers to enjoy closer contact with Brazilian and Latin American audiences and film professionals.
This is one of the events scheduled for this year by the film libraries of Porto Alegre and Sao Paulo as part of the dissemination programmes run by Casa de Lava in collaboration with the various film archives of Brazil to promote new Spanish films in the country.
Eight Spanish filmmakers and specialists will attend the fair with the support of AC/E’s PICE Mobility programme. Spain’s participation in this event stems from the PICE Visitors grant previously awarded to the (S8) 5th Mostra Internacional de Cinema Periférico de A Coruña (Spain) in 2014 for the Brazilian planner and director of Casa de Lava, Lila Foster.
