Melbourne Writers Festival (MWF) is the Victoria’s annual celebration for writers, readers and thinkers. Each year, MWF showcases the best writers from Australia and around the world, and curates a Festival program which reflects the vitality and depth of reading and writing culture in the Asia-Pacific region, and the world. Through discussion and debate, storytelling, performance and educational programming, the Festival challenges, entertains and inspires audiences.
MWF works hard to enhance and strengthen links with international guests to Australia, providing a forum for networking for writers, publishers, agents and book sellers. The Festival organises key events for writers and publishers to meet and talk, a formal author reception and informal nightly get-togethers for all writers at the festival hub.
AC/E supports the participation of the Spanish guest Gabi Martínez in several events across regional Victoria. Gabi will participate in one session focused on his book 'In the Land of Giants: Hunting Monsters in the Hindu Kush' and at least 2 sessions focused on his experience as a travel writer and literary journalist.
He will also participate in a Public event in the “Reading Across Borders” series. This event will feature conversation about his work and his experiences as a writer, conducted in translation, including a reading from the work, and questions from / discussion with the audience, followed by a reception.
And finally he will be part of two events in Sydney, in collaboration with Instituto Cervantes Sydney. 5:00 pm- Lecture Club.
