Malaga Spanish Film Festival was established in 1998 and has set out to meet a number of goals every year, among them encouraging the dissemination and promotion of Spanish cinema, becoming a nationally and internationally reputed film festival and contributing to the development of Malaga as an open and cultural city. Malaga Festival, now in its 18th year, makes a powerful contribution to the development of Spanish-language cinema by presenting the best documentaries, shorts and other films made in this language, as well as paying tribute to various prominent people in the film industry and staging many film cycles, exhibitions and complementary activities.
