MADferia. X Edición. Feria de Artes Escénicas de Madrid

MADferia Artes Escénicas de Madridthe Madrid Performing Arts Fair promoted by ARTEMAD, was started up in 2005 with the aim of becoming a reference market in the sector of the performing arts. Over the years MADferia has consolidated its extremely useful role in bringing together the professional sector (programmers, distributors, agents, producers, enterprises, etc.) and national theatre companies and performers.

MADferia has become established as an annual event for professionals with buying and selling intentions and capabilities. Nevertheless, considering its cultural dimension, MADferia is designed to cater to any professionals interested in the performing arts sector as well as to members of the general public wishing to take part in its activities and shows.

MADferia is the only performing arts fair in Spain that is organised by producers and held in the Madrid region. It has thus become a national focal point for the sector and attracts the attention of the international scene.

Its objectives include putting on the best stage shows in small and medium format for them to be viewed and, as the case may be, contracted by programmers and distributors; promoting contemporary theatre shows belonging to any of the genres, contemporary dance and theatre-dance, puppet shows, performances, cabaret, theatre of gesture, etc.; and making MADferia the main showcase for Spanish creativity on stage and a meeting point for the foremost state and international agents, with special emphasis on Latin America.

AC/E is collaborating with this year’s MADferia by supporting the participation of the following international programmers, through its visitor programme of the PICE:

Alberto Ligalupi(General Manager of the Complejo Teatral in Buenos Aires), José Miguel Onaindía (Coordinator of Shows and Content at the Teatro Solís in Montevideo), Mauricio Camus (International Manager of the Teatro Municipal Las Condes in Chile), Alicia Martínez (Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes de México), Emerson Pirola (SESC, Brazil),Octavio Arbelaez (Director of the International Festival of the Teatro Manizales in Colombia), Marcia Díaz (Festival Tempo, Brazil) and Luis Jiménez (Director of the Festival Don Quijote, Paris).
