LOOP Barcelona is a platform dedicated to the study and promotion of the moving image. Founded in 2003, since its creation it ohas offered a specialised audience a curated selection of video-related content from different perspectives, while teaming up with an international community of artists, curators, gallerists, collectors and institution directors to develop projects which aim to explore the capacities of video and film in today’s contemporary art discourses.
The Festival includes as part of the programme a series of creations of moving image in the form of exhibitions, screenings and live performances around the city.
For this edition, the main selection will be put together with the guidance of local curators Eugeni Bonet and Antoni Mercader. Together they edited Entorno al video (Barcelona: Gustavo Gili, 1980), the first Spanish publication dedicated to video art.
AC/E supports the presence of international programmers and specialists by awarding Visitor grants through its PICE Programme.
