The CNDM and the Cervantes Institute, in collaboration with Acción Cultural Española, resume, within the framework of the Europe Project, the long-awaited collaboration with the London Baroque Music Festival, announced for May 2020 and which had to be suspended due to the pandemic. In May 2023, some of the best Spanish musicians and ensembles specialized in the historicist interpretation of the ancient and baroque Spanish repertoire will disembark at the prestigious festival, as a preview and sample of the valuable musical heritage of our country.
In this new edition of the Festival, the five concerts initially announced will be enriched with various round tables in which international specialists will contextualize and value the unique Spanish repertoire for the enjoyment of the London public. The performances will be carried out by the resident group of the season, Concerto 1700, and its main violin and musical director, Daniel Pinteño, the soprano Lucía Caihuela, together with L'Apothéose, the soprano Raquel Andueza, leading her ensemble La Galanía, guitarist and vihuelist José Miguel Moreno, as well as La Grande Chapelle, conducted by Albert Recasens.
