Literary workshop: Imagination, narrative and graphic arts. Miguel Brieva

Carleton College is a renowned private college with an active Spanish department. In the past the department has organised activities and workshops involving Spanish creators such as writers Fernando Iwasaki, Laura Freixas and Javier Pérez de Andújar, screenwriter Carmen Chaves, and film directors Mercedes Álvarez, Elena Taberna and Óscar Clemente.

Through the mobility grants awarded under the PICE, AC/E, is supporting the workshop taught by Miguel Brieva at the request of the American college. Students will have the chance to work directly with Miguel Brieva, one of the most important Spanish creators of his generation, through the graphic adaptation of a novel by writer Belén Gopegui.

The aim of all these workshops is to disseminate Spanish art, cinema and literature. Guests take part in activities at other American universities and institutions interested in contemporary Spanish creation, thus heightening the impact of their visits and fostering the internationalisation of these professionals. On this occasion Miguel Brieva is also holding workshops at the University of Nebraska.
