This year edition presents 15 premiere performances in Theatre Programme, and 3 more as review. During 12 festival days, the audience gets a chance to see high-quality theatre shows of different genres, ages and approaches. Besides that, there are numerous free side programs - creative workshops, literary, dance, concerts, exhibitions, art installations, ecological and multimedia programs all over our Old town.
AC/E is covering the travel expenses, through the PICE Mobility grants, of the Spanish guests invited to take part Andrés Beladiez & Karla Kracht with their work "2062". Their show is multidisciplinary and combines illustration, theatre, cinema, and animation. It shows a world that will never be the same again. Boarders will turn red again or disappear completely. They will become less accessible. New walls will be build and old ideals will be buried. Wars will be different, but continue killing at ideologic gunpoint. Capitalism, with hardly any opponent, will extend covering the terrestrial world with its coat. Governments will cease their power cells to big corporations. New migrations and an agonized Europe resisting to lose its hegemony. Citizens searching their identities in shopping carts. The 21st century arrived and changed us forever. But we hardly realized it. Somehow everything continues the same.
One of the most important and oldest cultural events in Montenegro, the Festival has a 26-year-old tradition of bringing artists and theatres all over the world to the city. Founded in 1993, it has received numerous rewards. In 2013, it was chosen by EU program – Culture 2007-2013, as one of the 10 best festivals in Europe. In 2015 and 2018 they received Wild Beauty Award for the best manifestation of the year; EFFE LABEL 2017-2018, and again for 2019-2020 and thus became a part of EFFE community.
