En-Knap was originally founded as an international dance group in Belgium in 1993. The following year it moved to Ljubljana, where it was established as En-Knap Productions. This production company has managed to carve a niche for its aesthetic in Europe, attracting well-reputed co-producers and performing some of the most highly acclaimed dance pieces in recent history. Since 2010–11 it has also been running its Import-Export International Programme, which stages monthly performances of internationally renowned contemporary dance pieces.
En-Knap has requested AC/E, through the mobility programme of the PICE, for assistance in inviting Julyen Hamilton, a celebrated British producer, teacher and choreographer based in Girona, to present his work The Immaterial World and to hold a workshop.
