This 28 edition of Julidans 2018 presents around 30 international contemporary dance productions on 8 locations throughout Amsterdam. AC/E supports the participation of two Spanish productions, "Set of Sets" by Guy Nader & Maria Campos / GN | MC in Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam and "Anatomia Publica" by Tomeo Vergés / Man Drake Company in Theater Bellevue.
Guy Nader & Maria Campos' new performance "SET OF SETS" is a journey based on cooperation, precision and rigor, which steers our attention towards the perception of the infinite, time and memory creating an endless maze of bodies in action. GN | MC continue to explore the notion of time as a fundamental concept. Digging in the idea of infinity as a ceasless loop and with a constant interest in the joy of repetition, this work aims to draw our attention to the perception of time, memory and lived experiences, series of infinite opportunities for time and space to be compared.
"Anatomia Publica" is a production by choreographer Tomeo Vergés that takes us on a journey through the memory of bodies to discover what intimacy lies within, what unspoken truths movement may reveal. Something between clockwork and a hysterical fable, "Anatomia publica" questions the mechanisms that impact us, revealing an unconscious world where the strange, absurd, funny, cruel, sensitive and grotesque coexist.
The Julidans festival takes yearly place in eight locations throughout the city of Amsterdam. For 27 years Julidans has been the festival for international, innovative and contemporary dance in the Netherlands. Julidans is presenting around 30 international productions, of which 10 are taking place on the main stage (Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam) in the centre of Amsterdam, which is also the heart of the festival.
