Fundación SGAE, in collaboration with Zaragoza council, Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and Radio 3, has organised the 5th edition of JazzEñe, an initiative aimed at internationalising Spanish jazz that will take part in Zaragoza from 14 to 16 September.
During the three days it runs, a total of twelve 45-minute concerts in showcase format will be held in the Sala Luis Galve of Zaragoza’s auditorium (C/ Eduardo Ibarra, 3. Price: €8 per session. On sale at entradas.ibercaja.es and at the ticket office at the auditorium) featuring some of the most representative Spanish groups in this genre today: Pau Viguer Trío, Antonio Serrano, Carola Ortiz Group, Abe Rábade Trío, Gladston Galliza, María Toro Project, Tr3spuntocer0, Noa Lur, Ramon Fossati Glowing Trío, Chicuelo-Mezquida, Antonio Lizana and Michael Olivera Group with the collaboration of Munir Hossn.
After watching the performances, representatives of festivals of Ireland, Japan, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia and France will meet the artists to establish collaboration agreements. As well as the audiences, JazzEñe 2017 will be attended by representatives of various jazz festivals and promotors from all over the world, whom Fundación SGAE has invited to the event with the support of AC/E’s Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture (PICE) to show them the work of jazz composers based in our country. The festivals represented include: Dublin Jazz (Ireland), Festival Cinq Continents (France), JazzPlus (Bulgaria), Ljubljana Jazz Festival (Slovenia), MediaEvent (Hungary) and Tokyo Jazz Festival and Yokohama Jazz Promenade (Japan).
