The international professional illustration fair Irudika presents the two projects that will form part of the artistic residency program in the disciplines of illustration and animation. On Saturday, March 5, the illustrator Beatriz Lozano and the visual artist Santiago Colombo will be at Zas Kultur Espazioa in Vitoria-Gasteiz to talk about their work and their goals in the two months of work in the artistic centers of La Cité internationale de la bande dessinée et de l'image and Fundación Bilbaoarte Fundazioa, ending with an exhibition at the Fundación Vital Exhibition Center in the capital of Alava.
The residencies allow the two selected artists to develop their work in addition to each of their personal projects: “Alleluias” and “Caminantes”, giving rise to the creation of the illustration that will form the Irudika 2022 poster and the promotional animation for the sixth edition of the international professional illustration fair.

We leave here the CVs of both artists:
BEA LOZANO (Salamanca, 1986) | Residence Illustration | Hallelujah Project
In the illustration section, the selected artist is Bea Lozano. In 2017 she was selected for the Ibero-American Catalog of Illustration. In 2018, she was also selected at the Ilustrarte International Biennial 2018 and won the IX edition of Iberoamérica Ilustra.
The jury determined the selection of her 'of her for the message that combines tradition and modernity using elements of folklore and native oral narration. A proposal full of strength that fits perfectly with the purpose of the Residences, their times and technical means. A reading of illustration based on narration, documentary value and satire'.
SANTIAGO COLOMBO (La Plata, Argentina. 1992) | Animation Residence | Project: Walkers
The project selected in the animation category is that of Santiago Colombo. An independent visual artist, filmmaker and animator, he has exhibited his works individually and collectively in spaces in Argentina, Latin America and Europe.
The jury's decision highlighted the artist because: 'as a creator, he has a very wide range of resources, which allows him to mix, in a very harmonic way, video images, stop motion, collages, drawing and traditional animation. In his pieces there is an important component of experimentation, focused mainly on the exploration of matter, the visual result of which is of great interest.
