The International Festival of Ancient and Baroque Music of Peñíscola is one of the most consolidated platforms of dissemination and exhibition of historical music in Spain. The XXIV edition is celebrated between the 1st and 12th of August at the Pope Luna Castle and has a program of nine open-air evening concerts with reference groups at national and international level. For the first time it has been invited to participate, with the support of AC/E, directors of similar festivals in Europe and America celebrate a professional meeting with Spanish interpreters and groups.
Created in 1996, the Peñíscola is an old music festival specializing in historicist interpretation, where some of the top specialists in this genre have participated. It has become an international benchmark for music between the 12th and 17th centuries. The concerts are offered outdoors in the parade ground of the Templar castle of Papa Luna. I have offered very diverse programs, from soloists to chamber opera and orchestral concerts.
