The exhibition investigates how diverse artistic strategies, that seem humble or even invisible, can unfold in gestures of resistance, or ultimately as an instrument for radical change. How moments of absence; immateriality or small individual actions literally and metaphorically transform a situation. And how these strategie maintains a reflective or critical relation to the surrounding world without staying an introvert action. These works presented, unravel various stories as poetic comments on political situations, personal experiences, unexpected encounters, or absurd actions that reveal a certain futility in life, all created by the simplicity of an idea.
AC/E supoorts the participation in this collective exhibition of the Spanihs artist Maider López with her work VIGA (2008 - on going). The site specific art work transgresses the rules and order of conventional exhibition logic, exploring the physical limits by creating an architecture intervention. Remade for KARST, the replica beams is placed incongruously in the space, demanding a different movement of the visitor, assigning a different perspective of the gallery space.
López reconstructs this site-specific artwork, in correspondence with the exhibition concept, exploring the idea of a poetic and individual strategy as potential tool to understand the world in which we live in.
