As part of the international dance theatre season, the coordinating committee of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico is featuring in its programme Sebastían García Ferro’s company, with performances of Impasse #2. AC/E is collaborating by supporting the project through the PICE programme for the internationalisation of Spanish culture.
The piece will be performed on 10, 11 and 12 July at the Teatro de la Danza in Mexico DF, which has an important international programme for the whole season in which countries such as Canada, Belgium and Japan, among others, are represented.
Sebastián García Ferro is a Barcelona-based choreographer, dancer, performer and composer who has directed his own company since 1999, for which he has created 19 pieces and has won awards such as the 1st prize for choreography in the 12maspalomas competition in 2007. In recent years he has received various commissions for pieces in large format such as Versus 0.2 for the Compañía Nacional de Danza Contemporánea in Argentina, Orquestrat for the Orquesta Sinfónica de Barcelona and the project TOTDANSA 2011 and 2012. He is currently artistic director for the Barcelona International Dance Exchange.
