Imaginate is a unique organisation in Scotland and a leader in promoting, developing and celebrating theatre and dance performances for children and young people. It does so through an annual integrated programme of art-form development and creative learning as well as audience and policy development projects, and the production of the famous Imaginate Festival, currently in its 27th year. It is a festival devoted to the performing arts for children and young people of Scotland.
This year, companies from Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Spain are taking part. Aracaladanza is the only Spanish company to be featured, with the support of AC/E. With a host of prizes under its belt, Aracaladanza constantly delights audiences all over Europe with its magical dance shows for children and families. ‘Constelaciones’, choreographed by Enrique Cabrera, takes the work of abstract artist Joan Miró as a starting point for filling an imaginary blank canvas with vibrant colours, forms and movement. Dance, puppets and digital visual effects combine to show a creativity and a style that make this company one of the best of its kind.
