Hoy para Hoy is a programme that enables young Bolivian playwrights selected previously in workshops to enjoy the support of a Spanish playwright in devising and writing a play for the theatre. Each Spanish author holds tutorials with a young Bolivian playwright, acting as an artistic mentor. The Spanish playwrights taking part in this year’s edition, with the support of AC/E, are Raúl Hernández and Miguel González Cruz.
‘Hoy para Hoy’ is one of the ongoing projects run by the national drama school, the Escuela Nacional de Teatro, to aid the development of young Bolivian playwrights. During 2016 it has launched a project to encourage the development of plays, which involves Spanish playwrights mentoring young Bolivian authors on a writing project. Five of these texts will be brought to completion and the project will end with the publication of the plays and the holding of various ‘dramatised readings’ in Madrid.
