Hay Festival Xalapa 2014

Hay Festival Xalapa 2014

Hay Festival Xalapa is one of the most important literary events in the Spanish-speaking world with a high-quality international programme geared to all audiences. During the month of October this festival brings together leading authors and thinkers to work in collaboration with the local community and with experts in different fields of culture.

AC/E collaborates with the festival by facilitating the presence of Spanish writers and publishers at this key literary event in order to encourage the internationalisation of Spanish creators’ work.

With this aim in mind, this year AC/E is supporting the participation of three writers who represent our finest contemporary literature and who will give several talks to audiences on literature and their work:
Ignacio Martínez de Pisón
Juan Bonilla
- Jordi Sierra i Fabra o Santiago Roncagliolo

In connection with the festival, also with the support of AC/E, four more professionals are taking part in the Encuentro Talento Editorial (Conference on publishing talent), an international professional event open to the public and aimed at disseminating novel experiences and success stories in the publishing industry. At this event booksellers, publishers and people from the world of books exchange ideas and reflect jointly on issues. The meetings are also intended as platforms for publicly enhancing appreciation of the different book-related professionals in order to show models to be followed and imitated and boost collective knowledge. The four Spanish professionals taking part in this activity are:
- Julián Lacalle (Pepitas de Calabaza)
Malcolm Otero Barral  Malpaso)
- Laura Huerga (Rayo Verde Editorial)
- Julián Rodríguez (Editorial Periférica).
