Gira Ambulante 2014. International Documentary Film Festival

Gira Ambulante 2014. International Documentary Film Festival

For the first time this year Colombia is hosting the documentary film festival founded by Gael García Bernal, Diego Luna, Pablo Cruz and Elena Fortes in Mexico in 2005, which is visiting the cities of Bogotá, Medellín, Barranquilla and Cartagena between 26 August and 21 September. The Fundación Ambulante is organising the whole festival, which features a programme of 22 recent national and international films acclaimed by critics and public alike.

AC/E is collaborating by supporting the participation of Spaniards Lois Patiño (Vigo, 1983) and Naus Ballus (Mollet del Valles, 1980) through the mobility grants awarded under the PICE.  Lois Patiño will present his film Montaña en Sombra at the Art Department of the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota on 26 August, and later on at the Museo de Arte Moderno in Medellín. On 17 September Naus Ballus will be at the Faculty of Communication of the Universidad Tecnológica de Bolivar in Cartagena de Indias to run a documentary production workshop and present her film La Plaga;  a public screening of this documentary will also be held at the AECID’s training centre in that city.

All the activities are free of charge and open to the public.
