Gijon International Film Festival 2019

Gijon International Film Festival 2019

AC/E supports the participation of international programmers in the second edition of FICX Industry Days. It holds various industry meetings about grants for cinematographic and audiovisual productions, talks, panel discussions about programming in international festivals, development platforms and coproduction of audiovisual projects, works-in-progress and pitching sessions. The programme will also tackle two of the most highlighted titles from Spanish cinema in 2019 as a case study: El secreto de Marrowbone and Verano 1993.

Gijón International Film Festival started out in 1963 as a competition for children and young people – a spirit which has remained alive over the years through the Enfants Terribles section. However, Gijón is also interested in innovation, as evidenced by sections such as FICXLab, DocuFICX, AnimaFICX and Convergencias, which complement the official section by showing the most significant independent films and seek to bring audiences films that are not released in commercial theatres.
