Fotosemana Manila 2015

Fotosemana Manila 2015

Fotosemana Manila is the first event of its kind in the Philippines: a week of activities based around the many sides and current trends in contemporary photography, both local and global. This year the festival is focusing on fine art photography and the rise of the photobook.

To produce the festival Thousandfold is collaborating with IED Madrid (Spain), a leading institution in photography as a visual art practice, and Emaho Magazine (India). The festival includes a masterclass workshop and an exhibition by the acclaimed Spanish artist and photographer Nicolás Combarro, staged with the support of Ación Cultural Española (AC/E).

The programme also features a long list of activities, among them: portfolio reviews by local and international guest experts, public talks, photobook presentations and flash book launches and an international photobook showcase in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Photobook Archive (Australia), Gato Negro Editorial (Mexico), Indie Photobook Library (United States), The Philanthropic Museum (Singapore), B-Side, artbooks.ph, The Office of Culture & Design, Pablo Galerías, Pioneer Studios (Philippines), and other partners from around the world.

The event will run from 18 to 24 May 2015 at the Thousandfold headquarters in Taguig City and other affiliated venues across the city.
