Flamenco Festival London has become one of the most important cultural events of the city. Founded in 2003, Flamenco Festival London is headquartered at the prestigious Sadler's Wells Theater, one of Europe's most iconic dance centers. This 15th edition takes place between the 14 and 25 February at the Sadler's Wells Theater. AC/E support with the Mobility Grants the participation of Compañía Isabel Bayón with the show "DJU-DJU".
With flamenco as an amplifier and making "the thoughts and aspirations of thousands of women" their own, in this edition there will be several generations of female dancers among which María Pagés, Rafaela Carrasco, Isabel Bayón, La Chana, Patricia Guerrero, Úrsula López, Tamara López or Leonor Leal, and cante like Carmen Linares or Marina Heredia.
Dju-Dju. A show by Israel Galván for Isabel Bayón
In an extraordinary collaboration, avant-garde choreographer and dancer Israel Galván directs classical dancer Isabel Bayón as she reinvents herself, exploring the demons and superstitions of the flamenco world, alongside dancers Alicia Márquez and Nieves Casablanca.
