Berlin’s second flamenco festival is taking place this year from 27 November to 5 December. The programme features Rocío Molina and La Tremendita, Sara Calero, Belén Maya and Ariadna Castellanos, among other flamenco artists.
The festival is an initiative of the performing arts production company Endirecto FT and Asociación Flamenco en el Mundo in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes of Berlin. It is part of the Proyecto Flamenco en el Mundo, a project run with the collaboration of Jerez Festival and the support of Marca España. This project was a runner-up for the Flamenco Hoy national critics’ prize in the best flamenco promotion category.
The 20015 Flamenco en Berlín festival is officially based at the Instituto Cervantes in Berlin. Once again, the Akademie der Künste im Hanseatenweg is the venue for larger-scale shows, and is being joined this year by the Theater Aufbau Kreuzberg, where flamenco dancer Belén Maya will present her work Romnia on December 2 with the support of AC/E’s Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture (PICE).
