Founded in 1987, the International Festival of Audiovisual Programs (FIPA) is a six-day event that functions as a professional platform for exchanges and reflection with the aim of promoting audiovisual creation of the twenty-first century. The festival is unique in that it supports all varieties of audiovisual creation and is a veritable observatory for international audiovisual creation.
It brings together directors, professionals, audiences and students, who have the chance to discover the best programmes of the year. The 29th edition of FIPA in 2016 features a section on Spanish audiovisual creation called FOCUS ESPAÑA. With the support of AC/E, the festival will screen a selection of recent documentaries and fiction films so that the audience can discover the variety of Spain’s current production.
In addition, the festival hosts a series of activities designed to offer opportunities for professional development to Spanish creators through lectures and exchanges with international speakers, meetings with European and international distributors, workshops and debates. The organisers provide spaces where visitors can view the selected films and encourage networking between emerging professionals and others with a long track record.
