FETEN, the European performing arts fair for boys and girls, is organised by Gijón council. Designed to foster love of the theatre, this international event is a yearly must-attend for more than 500 professionals who take part in its sessions and for thousands of girls and boys, young people and whole families who fill its theatres and other venues.
The more than 30,000 people who have taken part in each of the most recent editions speak for its success. For seven days Gijón becomes an essential meeting point where sector professionals can combine, exchange, share and foster interests, experiences and knowledge and establish direct contact with planners, companies and professionals.
The fair is an international point of reference and features a large number of international planners who have the chance to familiarise themselves with Spanish production, come into contact with sector professionals and take part in the complementary activities designed to provide in-depth knowledge of children’s theatre and its current state and future prospects. Acción Cultural Española is supporting this initiative through the PICE Visitors programme by facilitating the presence of five planners from South Africa, France, Britain, Denmark and Germany.
