The Feria Europea de Artes Escénicas para Niños y Niñas, FETEN (European Children’s Performing Arts Fair) organised by Gijón city council, is an important event that promotes exchanges and cooperation among the different creative and distribution sectors of the performing arts specialising in theatre for children and young people. For seven days Gijón becomes a key meeting point where all professionals from the sector can pool, exchange and share interests, experiences and knowledge and establish direct links between programmers, companies and professionals of this medium.
For its 23rd year, FETEN will feature 150 performances by 70 national and foreign companies from Argentina, Belgium, France, Bulgaria, the Netherlands and Italy. The fair aims to become an international benchmark and will therefore feature a large number of international programmers who will have the chance to familiarise themselves with Spanish production, come into contact with the sector’s professionals and take part in complementary activities aimed at furthering knowledge of children’s theatre and its current state and future perspectives.
Acción Cultural Española is supporting this initiative through the visitor programme of the PICE by facilitating the presence of five programmers from Mexico, Italy, Colombia, Peru and France.
