The 23rd edition of the renowned Santiago a Mil festival will take place from 3 to 24 January 2016. With a 20-year track record, it brings together a hundred or so theatre, dance, circus and music shows from various countries, exhibitions, and laboratories and activities by various performing arts platforms.
This year’s festival includes the large-format street theatre performance La Ira de los peces, which is produced by Fira Tárrega and features Spanish actors and is supported by AC/E’s Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture.
It will take place in landmark spots in the city of Santiago on 20 and 22 January. The play explores the contrast between two cultures: one represented by people who live in a boat, surviving on rubbish collected from the sea, and the other by the visitors who come to find out about the living conditions and customs of the so-called ‘fish people’.
