Under the direction of composer Oliver Rappoport, Festival Mixtur was established in Barcelona in order to promote the creation, teaching and dissemination of the music and sound art of our time in relation to research on sound and its interaction with the other artistic disciplines.
Mixtur 2016 will take place from 21 April to 1 May, mainly in Fabra i Coats-Fàbrica de Creació, but also in other venues in the city. With a total of 16 concerts, other activities and roundtables, Festival Mixtur 2016 features an extensive programme as well as the composition and sound experimentation workshop 2016 and the first edition of a workshop on conducting. Argentine programmers Miguel Galperín and Martín Bauer are taking part in this year’s MIXTUR with the collaboration of Acción Cultural Española through the Visitors’ programme.
