Malaga Spanish Film Festival was established in 1998 and has set out to meet a number of goals every year, among them encouraging the dissemination and promotion of Spanish cinema, becoming a nationally and internationally reputed film festival and contributing to the development of Malaga as an open and cultural city. Malaga Festival, now in its 18th year, makes a powerful contribution to the development of Spanish-language cinema by presenting the best documentaries, shorts and other films made in this language, as well as paying tribute to various prominent people in the film industry and staging many film cycles, exhibitions and complementary activities. Malaga Festival is geared to all audiences and, in accordance with its aim of presenting and encouraging a broad range of film culture, is ever attentive to training, creativity and innovation as part of an event that is notable for its dynamic and constantly developing nature. As in previous years, AC/E is supporting the festival through the Visitors grants by inviting important foreign planners to the festival.
