Les Inattendus is an experimental and independent film festival which is held every two years in the city of Lyon.
This year’s festival is devoting a special section to Spanish film director Val del Omar and features screenings of his most important work, Tríptico elemental de España, formed by Aguaespejo granadino (1955), Fuego en Castilla (1960) and Acariño galaico (1961), and Estampas 1932, a film about the Educational Missions (to promote literacy in rural areas) of the Second Spanish Republic.
Specialists Gonzalo Sáenz de Buruaga and Elena Duque are attending the festival with the support of AC/E’s Mobility grants to talk about Val del Omar and analyse his work with audiences.
