Rosario International Poetry Festival is the most important event in its speciality in Argentina. It has been held every year without fail since 1993 for the purpose of disseminating the cultural values of each country and deepening dialogue on aspects of the history, literature and poetic creation of the participating countries.
This edition of the festival pays tribute to Argentine poets who began publishing in the 1970s. The festival will also promote the recently published anthology of Spanish-language poetry Mil Millones. Poesía en lengua española del siglo XXI, which brings together the work of 33 Latin American, European and US poets aged under 35. One of these poets is Vicente Monroy, whom the festival has invited with the collaboration of AC/E to take part in several poetry reading roundtables and in the Lavarden Platform. The festival also features a poetry making workshop at the Centro Cultural Roberto Fontanarrosa and a meeting with young people from schools in peripheral areas to promote poetic creation among young people from more vulnerable social environments.
