Every year Medellín international poetry festival features some 100 poetry and art performances with 80 poets and artists from 35 countries. This year’s festival celebrates the ‘Memory of Eleusis’ as a tribute to Rimbaud – for whom ‘all ancient poetry ended in Greek poetry’, as he wrote in his ‘Lettre du Voyant’ – through courses, lectures, panels, discussions, plays, concerts and ceremonies on the poet and a digital exhibition from the Rimbaud museum.
AC/E is collaborating by supporting the participation of poet Juan Carlos Mestre in five public group activities during the festival week:
Collective reading of poems at the opening ceremony, Parque de los Deseos, June 18
Reading at the Casa de la Cultura del Municipio de Sonsón, June 21
Poetry and reading workshop for children at the Escuela Niño Jesús de Praga, Proyecto Gulliver, June 22
Collective reading at Teatro Pablo Tobón Uribe, June 23
Collective reading of poems at Teatro Lido, European poets.
